KATHERINE'S FIRST MATCH DOESN'T GO AS PLANNED
After an unbelievable Bash at the Beach, Katherine Sakamoto walked out of the main event as Academy Women’s Champion. Fittingly, the last face we saw at Bash is the first we saw on tonight’s Stormchaser. Katherine- as expected- gloated about her win and claimed to already be the best wrestler on the planet. She challenged anyone in the locker room to come prove her wrong but she got much more than she bargained for. Out strode Ballesca Pierce, an underground legend and former Stardom Red Belt champion. Pierce put Katherine in her place and the match was on!
It became apparent early on Katherine knew she was in over her head. Katherine went for several takedowns to set up pinfalls but Pierce was one step ahead every time. After a brilliant match from Pierce, the debutant made her way to the top rope for her dreaded Neck Piercer finisher. Just like that, Katherine Sakamoto loses her first match as champion and Ballesca Pierce is the #1 contender for her title.
Backstage, Lieter boasts about his role in finding Dagonite and becoming a tag team champion once again. He announced the Titans’ upcoming match would be a Titan’s Rules match, a callback to Lieter’s first run as a dominant tag team champion early in the Academy days.
In their first match as champions, the Titans took on Woods Club. The match started off normally but the end was anything but. Dagonite tossed Lance Woods out of the ring and went for a steel chair. Rather than tossing the match out, the referee stood there and watching Dagonite crack Lance Woods over the head. Welcome to Titans Rules, a despicable match type where the Titans get to choose their own set of regulations. Dagonite followed up the chair shot with a powerbomb to win.
Oliver Parker was supposed to speak on Lee Carr’s return at Bash but he had another thing coming backstage. Carr found him and again put him on the ground with a Green Out!
Our main event was a three way dance featuring three men looking to get some major momentum after not featuring at Bash: Overload, Ulysses Sky and Omega Woods. Sky went out early after a giant slam from Overload which left the former World’s Strongest Man and the newest threat Omega Woods. After a long back and forth featuring multiple weapons and an Overload Hospital Ride that put split seconds away from winning the match, the big man turned again to the slam he used to put away Sky. Woods was ready, backflipping out of the slam and hitting his Gunslinger finisher to win. After the match, Omega got on the mic to address the main question surrounding him since he debuted: what does he want? Woods says he wants to go straight to the top and he called out the Academy legend himself, Yun-Son Park. Park did not answer the call which prompted Omega Woods to tell the world he will “hunt [him] down.” As Woods left on that intimidating note, we saw Park standing backstage. The legend had watched the whole tirade from Woods. What is his next move?
