FALLOUT FROM
AFTERPARTY

After an insane Afterparty show last week, the landscape is beginning to shift on Friday Night Storm. We got to see some rare pictures of the aftermath of Aleister Black’s title defense against WALTER and the toll on their bodies was steep. Both men will be out of action for a little while as they recover.

Not coincidentally, the first thing we saw on this show was new Intercontinental Champion Bandido with his LAX partners. They thanked the fans for the role they played in helping Bandido win the title at Afterparty and they announce their time has come.

Our first match sees Cody Rhodes take on Penta after both men won on Dark last Wednesday. Cody was prepared to deal with Penta’s athleticism after he faced Ospreay last week and it showed. Rhodes won the match with a Cross Rhodes.

Backstage, Ronda Rousey is fuming over her loss to Dakota Kai in a tables match at Afterparty. Rousey says she really was prepared to take step back but now Kai made things personal. Rousey says she’s done feeling sorry for herself and if Kai wants a problem, she’s got one now.

Rosita battles former US Champion Tegan Nox trying to add to LAX’s success the past few weeks. Nox continues to struggle after losing her title at Bash at the Beach and Rosita knew exactly how to take advantage. With the help of Hernandez, Rosita withstood a Shiniest Wizard and hit the Exchange to win.

Backstage, Conor McGregor responds to Bandido and LAX from earlier. He says now Lashley aims to break the record for most Intercontinental Title reigns which he can do by recapturing his title from Bandido. McGregor promises they will do just that.

In our main event, Damian Martinez finally gets his time in the ring with Drew McIntyre. The Scottish Psychopath got Jay White disqualified when Martinez fought him a few weeks ago and Martinez was ready to fight. The Archer of Infamy even withstood a Claymore, albeit one  without McIntyre’s usual long runup. Martinez ended the match with a big boot right between the eyes. Certainly Martinez’s next target will be Jay White himself.

Next week on Storm, Bobby Lashley returns to the ring plus two former Intercontinental Champions do battle in the main event!
