KAI AND BELAIR
WILL DEFEND
The show begins with World Champion Dakota Kai in action for the first time in what seems like months. Shayna Baszler was the one to challenge her and, for as much as Kai seems to avoid matches, we can’t forget she is the best female wrestler in the world. She had an answer for everything Baszler threw at her and, even after Baszler kicked out of a Kairopractor, Kai remained on top. Finally after a second Kairopractor, Kai got the win. She tried to go right back at Baszler, attacking her seconds after the ref’s hand came down for three. Luckily, Ronda Rousey was right there behind Kai, stopping the attack quickly and ejecting Kai from the ring.
Next up, US Champion Bianca Belair steps into the ring once again against a dangerous opponent. Like Kai, Belair took on a former mixed martial artist in Jessamyn Duke. Also like Kai, Belair proved she was a cut above the rest. Belair dominated Duke from the off, dismantling the combat sports veteran and pinning her with a 450. After the match, though, Belair seemed to get her next US Championship challenger. Rosita came out to the stage and called out the champ for ducking her. Belair, in no uncertain terms, told Rosita the champ will not back down.
Backstage, Rey Mysterio tells Bobby Lashley LAX will not be broken after the attack last week and they will unite around their Intercontinental Champion.
In the ring, Lashley makes his own kind of statement as he takes on Cody Rhodes. As much as Rhodes tried to step in and avenge Mysterio and Bandido, Lashley was just far too powerful. He overpowered Rhodes easily and put him away with the spear to end the night.
Next week, GoD will battle The Mighty Don’t Kneel with a potential shot at the Usos on the line plus Tegan Nox is back in action!
