HISTORY MADE ON STORMCHASER
With just one week to go until Northern Lights, no one could have expected what we saw on this night…
Lancelot begins the show backstage. He explains to Scott Danielson this one isn’t personal; their match in the Stormchaser Tournament last year ended in a draw and Lancelot had to fix that. We began the show with that match as Lancelot took on the former Academy champ. Danielson was tough all match, even kicking out of the Grand Chariot once. But Lancelot was too much for the King of Old School. The Underground legend hit another Grand Chariot for the win.
Jackel deems Ramon Gutierrez “unworthy” and gives some unsettling positions for their match at Northern Lights.
Backstage, Kurt Andrews confirms how proud his is to represent the Academy and he will be proud to beat a member of Friday Night Storm and to become champion once again.
We go to that match as former champ Kurt Andrews takes on Shane Thorne of Aussies Don’t Kneel (the new name adopted for Thorne, Nick Miller and Flyboy. Thorne, of course, had Flyboy to help but Andrews was white hot. After a Phoenix Splash, Flyboy finally got physical with Andrews. With the ref’s back turned, Flyboy hung Andrews up on the top rope to make way for Nick Miller. But Andrews would not be denied. He slammed Nick Miller into the corner, hit a picturesque tornillo on Flyboy and dropped Thorne with the Eye of the Storm to win. That win is the first in the history of the Academy over an active Storm wrestler.
Backstage, Commissioner Jason Parker makes two huge announcements for Northern Lights. Ballesca Pierce and Katherine Sakamoto will fight for the Academy Title in a submission match. When the Titans defend their Tag Team Titles against the Wing Collectors, the Titans Rules will be banned.
Back in the ring, Lars Nightfall takes on Stefford Drummond. Many believe Nightfall has become unhinged and he did nothing to assuage that thought in this contest. He and Drummond brawled to the outside and Nightfall managed to hit a Nightmare on OSHA’s least favorite son. But instead of bringing him back into the ring, Nightfall left Drummond on the outside and took the countout victory. It was a shocking turn of events. After the match, Nightfall went back for more damage. But Eddie Hernandez had enough. The face of the Academy ran out to confront the man he brought into the fold. But where Nightfall had been reticent to attack Hernandez before, he snapped this time. He hit Hernandez with the Nightmare, hit a second on Drummond for good measure, and left them both laying. It was announced later on that Hernandez will fight Nightfall at Northern Lights.
Backstage, MidNight announces a challenge for anyone in the world at Northern Lights for his RAW Title.
Our main event is finally here. Yun-Son Park has been cleared for the first time since America the Beautiful 2 and now he’s coming back with one of GAW’s brightest stars. The two had a great match but the story came at the end. The lights went out with Park about to pin Primetime. Omega Woods appeared behind the Academy legend. When Park turned, he was met with a vicious Gunslinger. Before anyone knew what happened, Woods was out of the ring, Cole rolled over to make the pin and Yun-Son Park had lost. To close the show, we got the announcement that Park and Woods will run it back at Northern Lights in a Last Man Standing match!
We’ll see you on August 23 for Northern Lights!
