LANCELOT HUNTS, ISLAND NATION HUNTED
On the first Stormchaser after Winterfest, Lancelot addresses the GAW Academy faithful as the new champion. Immediately he takes aim at Kurt and Devon Andrews and promises the hunt is on for the former champ and his brother.
Our first match sees Queen Alexia trying to continue her impressive first year in GAW against Kristin Sakamoto. Alexia looked as good as ever against the MMA specialist, countering the rear naked choke with a brutal belly-to-belly suplex for the win.
Backstage, Eddie Hernandez and Yun-Son Park continue their unlikeliest of friendships by talking through the events of Winterfest. Each man encouraged the other before Park invited Hernandez to come with him to South Korea to meet the coaches and trainers responsible for Park’s shocking Cruiserweight Title win. Hernandez agreed as he tries to recover from big losses to Lars Nightfall and Chris Danger.
Xavier Cross continues his stellar rookie season with a win over Scott Danielson. Cross shows improvement every match he’s in and Danielson wasn’t ready for it. The former champ ended up on the wrong end of the Kronwalled Hawkslayer to hand Cross the win.
Nick Grey caught up with Derrick Cole to try to ask him about his cryptic comments at Winterfest but Primetime would have none of it, flat out refusing to answer the question. Elsewhere, Jason Parker announced an eight-man tournament to determine a new #1 contender for the RAW Title at Nitro 11 which kicks off in just a couple months. The field will be announced next week.
Our main event sees Island Nation take on the brothers Kurt and Devon Andrews, known as the Buccaneers. Fresh off their historic primetime match at Winterfest, Island Nation was ready to take on this challenge. But they were not ready to take on two challenges. During the match, as Yamamoto Kobayashi was going for a tag, Lieter appeared from the crowd to pull Eddie Tonga down from the apron. The two brawled, opening up the door for the Buccaneers to hit the Maelstrom on Kobayashi and pick up the win. Tonga chased the Titans backstage as his partner recovered from the move as the Buccaneers celebrated their first tag team win.
Next week, we learn the field of the 8-man tournament for RAW Title #1 contendership plus MidNight defends the title as he nears the GAW title defenses record!
