BATTLEFIELD WILL BE EVEN BIGGER THAN WE THOUGHT!
On the final Stormbreaker before Battlefield we begin with the stellar rookie Yamamoto returning to action against Kaitlyn Dunlap. Before the match, Commissioner Jason Parker announced the winner will get to face US Champion Shayna Baszler at Battlefield. Moto clearly heard the message loud and clear as she nearly decapitated Dunlap with a Rainmaker to get the win.
After the match, we announced Warpath, a special episode of Dark happening during Battlefield week which will feature three Storm vs Stormbreaker matches that do not count toward the overall series. We also learned the main event of Warpath will see Chris Danger fight Kofi Kingston after weeks of attacks both physical and verbal.
The first round of the RAW Tournament concluded with Santanico battling Ramon Gutierrez. Santanico ended the match in less than a minute with Crimson Abyss meaning the mysterious and dangerous man will rematch Ulysses Sky in the semifinals. Sky was not happy.
Island Nation and the Titans finally settle their issues in the ring with one of the best tag matches we’ve seen on Stormbreaker this season. After a back and forth affair that lasted over 15 minutes, Yamamoto Kobayashi hit the Graveyard Shift on Lieter, Eddie Tonga defied physics to stop Dagonite from breaking it up and Island Nation got the win.
Backstage, Jason Parker announced MidNight will face Bandido at Battlefield, the loser of the match will have to defend their title with an open contract in their next appearance. He also announced Stormbreaker’s team for the 8-man tag team match at Battlefield:
Max Ultimate
Lee Carr
Eddie Hernandez
Yun-Son Park
They will face Team Storm at the game-changing event next week.
In our main event, Lancelot defended his Academy Championship for the first time against Devon Andrews in a Last Man Standing match. The match was as brutal as we expected, featuring a Kiss the Canvas from Andrews and a Lancelot spear through the barricade. But it all ended with Lancelot, after nearly staying down for the 10 because of the Kiss of the Canvas, hitting the RTD to put Andrews away. But his fight was not done yet.
After the match, World Champion Brock Lesnar came down to the ring. He ran straight through Kurt Andrews and Franky Omega before hitting the ring to confront Lancelot. The Academy champion tried to fight but he was battered and bruised from his match. Lesnar dropped him with an F5 and left him laying in the middle of the ring to close the show.
