STORMBREAKER IS EVOLVING
In the ring, Commissioner Jason Parker and Champion Lancelot thank all the fans for their help in propelling Lancelot and the Stormbreaker roster to win the Battlefield series with Storm. So with the game completely changed, Lancelot and Parker announced the Academy needs a new name to reflect its stature as one of the world’s biggest promotions. So Lancelot has announced the new name for GAW’s Monday night show: EVOLUTION.
So the Evolution era begins with the Lone Star continuing his impressive rookie run against the equally impressive Chandler Marcy. The Lone Star has impressed so many with his early winning streak and that continued in this match with Marcy as the Texan mashed Marcy’s jaw with a vicious knee strike to pick up the win.
Backstage, Yun-Son Park officially announced the formation of a new tag team featuring him and Eddie Hernandez. The two obviously make a formidable pair but how will they fair in the Evolution tag division??
We’ll find out now as the duo take on the Underground’s legendary tag team WAR. You wouldn’t know just by watching that Park and Hernandez had just started to team together as their tag team instincts seemed as sharp as any veteran team. Amid flurries of quick double team offense, Park was sent out of the ring leaving Hernandez in a 2 on 1 situation. But clearly the new team had worked on this situation. Hernandez drilled Vick Cassidy with three powerbombs, opening up an opportunity for Park to slide back in the ring and knock Isaiah Hannibal off the apron just as Hernandez hit a Driveby on Cassidy for the win.
Both Igris and Santanico got a chance to comment on their RAW Tournament finals match which we learned is going down next Monday. Santanico was as confident as ever, not seeming to care at all about facing Igris. Meanwhile Igris asked a very simple question: why not me?
In the main event, Yamamoto continues her return from injury against an old nemesis in Kristin Sakamoto. Moto proved she hasn’t missed a beat despite her time away, absolutely leveling Sakamoto with a Rainmaker for the win. But as the show went off air, Queen Alexia hit the ring an beat the hell out of Yamamoto. We have no idea what may have prompted the attack but Alexia was taking no prisoners tonight.
