LANCELOT GETS MORE THAN HE BARGAINED FOR

Evolution begins with a four way dance with a Nitro spot on the line! Lancelot extended the challenge last week for a main event opponent at Nitro 11, a spot on the card that Lancelot won by defeating Brock Lesnar. Lee Carr, Lieter, Jackel and the Lone Star battle for that spot. Lone Star started things off white hot by blasting Lieter with his classic knee strike and then his devastating discus clothesline to notch the first elimination. Jackel and Lee Carr, who had been fighting outside the ring for basically the whole match, came back inside the ropes and the latter immediately dropped Lone Star with a Green Out… but he was too tired to make the cover and Lone Star escaped. Jackel was not so lucky as two Green Outs took the luchador out of the match. With just two left, Carr battled valiantly against the big Texan. But the Lone Star had another weapon in his arsenal, hitting Carr with a massive tiltawhirl powerslam for the win. Lone Star is going to Nitro but, backstage, Lancelot seemed distracted, continually muttering to himself that he recognizes Lone Star as he watched the big man’s performance on repeat.

Meanwhile, in an interview, Franky Omega was confident the Wing Collectors would work through all the issues they’ve been having the last few weeks. However, as we saw later on, Oliver Parker has other ideas. Parker approached Andrew Wesley and made him a simple offer: leave the Tag Team Title match in the main event and get a match with Parker at Nitro 11. Stay and forgo that contest. Wesley now has a decision to make…

Omega Woods, intent on demonstrating his strength and fortitude to Sam Hunt, takes on Max Ultimate who, himself, is looking for a huge win to potentially get him a Nitro match. He almost did it, too, as he used his classic combination of springboards, butterfly suplexes and two Max Damages to almost put down Woods. But the mysterious Underground legend was up to the task and put Ultimate away with a Boston Crab of all things, a message to Hunt ahead of their announced match at Dark on Wednesday.

Former Academy Champion Lazzara went up against the always-dangerous Katana and, again, her Make My Fortune finisher was countered by the incredible experience of the Japanese Sword. Lazzara recovered, however, using her incredible defensive skills to open Katana up for a facebuster and the win.

After the match, Lazzara was giving a statement backstage when she was viciously attacked by Kaitlyn Dunlap. Lazzara had seemingly been in the process of challenging Ballesca Pierce to a match at Nitro…

It’s finally main event time as Eddie Hernandez and Yun-Son Park challenged the Wing Collectors for the Tag Team Titles. When they entered, it seemed like Franky Omega and Andrew Wesley had pushed past the issues caused by Oliver Parker since Battlefield. Even during the match we saw a return to the team that took GAW by storm as they showed their generational tag team talent against two of the best the Academy has ever produced. When the champs hit the Crows and Angels, it seemed like they had moved past all the noise. But old rivalries run too deep. Andrew Wesley, instead of making the cover, left the title match in the middle. Franky Omega was stunned, unable to react. Hernandez and Park, instinctively without even realizing, took Omega down and hit him with the Hi Lo Flow to win. To the sound of stunned silence from the crowd, Hernandez and Park took the belts as the new champs but the significance of this moment is farther reaching than even the Tag Team Titles.
