OMEGA AND WESLEY ARE HEATED
As Nitro 11 approaches, it seems like Lancelot has a lot on his mind concerning his main event opponent. Before this show officially began, Lancelot found well-known wrestling genius Igris to ask him for help breaking down the Lone Star’s style. The champ is still convinced he actually knows who the Lone Star is and seems to suggest it’s a man he’s met before. Igris agrees and while we don’t get to hear the name of the man, it sounds like a worst-case scenario for Lancelot.
The first match of the night sees Lazzara battle Kaitlyn Dunlap. Before the match, champion Ballesca Pierce made clear that, even though she’s beaten both women before, she’s happy to face either one again at Nitro. Lazzara would not be denied this potential opportunity. Dunlap, like so many, countered the Make My Fortune but Lazzara kept battling, eventually hitting Dunlap with an unprotected dropkick to the head while Dunlap was out on the bottom rope to pick up the win.
Backstage, Franky Omega once again pleaded with Andrew Wesley to get it together as he set up a match for the Wing Collectors later in the show. If they beat the Buccaneers, they could be headed to Nitro as challengers. But Andrew Wesley told his teammate flat out he would not show up for the match. Franky didn’t believe him.
Santanico tries to continue his undefeated streak against Angelo Diaz. To the big man’s credit, Diaz did not go down easy, surviving two Sleepwalkers and a Deadman’s Lobotomy. But surviving the vicious DDT from Santanico took Diaz’s last energy reserve. Santanico hit a second Deadman’s Lobotomy for the win which preserves his undefeated record. Next week, MidNight will put his RAW Title on the line as promised when he takes on Dagonite.
Queen Alexia, as expected, claimed she’s not getting enough respect while Yamamoto was anointed the next great thing in wrestling. At the end of the day, all the talk will lead to a match at Nitro between two of the best young wrestlers in the world.
It’s do or die for the Wing Collectors. Can they claw their way back to Nitro after all the turmoil. Can they stand up to two of the most dangerous men in the world? We’ll never know. Andrew Wesley never came to the match. Franky Omega was left alone against Devon and Kurt Andrews. He fought valiantly, even hitting Devon with an Omega Theory, but it wasn’t enough. Devon pinned him with a Kiss the Canvas. After the match, the Buccaneers called out new champions Yun-Son Park and Eddie Hernandez and promised to take their titles at Nitro.
Backstage, Franky Omega found Andrew Wesley. The two had such a heated exchange everyone in the facility was left speechless. Go watch their emotional exchange if you haven’t seen it yet. The fallout is, it appears, the Wing Collectors are done as a team. We learned later Franky Omega asked for a street fight between him and Wesley for the main event next week.
The main event sees Lone Star face his toughest singles opposition yet as he goes up against Lars Nightfall. The terrifying Nightfall hit the Texan with absolutely everything in the arsenal but the Lone Star survived it all. The rookie ended the match with a gravity-defying tiltawhirl powerslam to win. After the bout, champion Lancelot hit the ring to finally face down his Nitro opponent. As the show went off the air, Lancelot told the Lone Star “I know who you are.”
