WHO WILL TAKE THE BRASS RING IN EGYPT?
It’s the last show before our historic debut in Egypt and already we have some scores to settle… and we begin with one in the first match. Igris rematches Xavier Cross in a no disqualification match after he viciously attacked the Hawk Slayer a couple weeks ago. This contest didn’t see the tables or the ladders or any of that. This was a far more grounded and brutal affair that saw both men try to inflict maximum damage with their fists, a steel chair and some kendo sticks. Neither man will be 100% for awhile after this, but Igris is the only one who will walk out a winner. He survived several Kronwalled Hawk Slayer attempts, never allowing Kross to put the hold on, and even survived a TKO on top of a splintering kendo stick. It was after that TKO that Igris took over, hitting the Reaper’s Embrace to win.
Backstage we hear from both Lazzara and Jon Gotti. Lazzara seemed to challenge Sophia Sweetness to a match that would ignite the old rivalry between her and her former student. Jon Gotti confirmed he and Nathan Rotunda will be at Cairo to challenge Island Nation but there seems to be more than meets the eye with those two.
Our next match sees Queen Alexia take on Martina Del Sol, the woman Yamamoto beat in the semifinals of the #1 contender eliminator. Like Moto, Alexia made quick work of Del Sol, ending her with an incredible Phoenix Splash after an entire match of total athletic dominance. After the match, Alexia got on the mic and challenged Yamamoto to a 2/3 falls match for #1 contendership in Cairo.
Backstage, Garrett Gibson was on his way to prepare for his Cairo match with Derrick Cole… but Cole and the Las Vegas Connection had other plans. The Cold Hearted challenger sent Angelo Diaz to attack the champ and Diaz viciously beat Gibson with a baseball bat, leaving him laying on the concrete a week before his main event match.
Devon Andrews will be taking on Santanico with the RAW Title on the line at Cairo and now he gets a tune up against Chandler Marcy a week out. Much like his match two weeks ago, Andrews was extremely patient, allowing Marcy to tire himself out in the early stages of the match. After a few minutes, it was clear Devon was just getting started. He backed Marcy into the corner and lit him up with an absolutely nasty combination that turned the second year man’s lights out. Santanico, who had been watching from ringside the whole match, slid in the ring to stare down his Cairo opponent. Santanico has already notched one defense but this one may prove to be more than even he can handle.
In the main event, the Titans are in action ahead of their emotionally charged match with Hernandez and Park in Cairo. The former champs took on the team of Little Dragon and Marlon Wright, two of the rookies who will be taking part in the Rookie of the Year series starting in just a couple weeks. Team captains Eddie Hernandez and Kurt Andrews had to be happy watching their potential charges stand against two of the most intimidating men in Evolution history. But in the end, the Titans proved too much for the young bucks. More specifically, Dagonite proved to be too much as he isolated Little Dragon and destroyed him with three nasty powerbombs. Lieter tagged himself in to finish off the victory but the damage had already been done. All of our competitors are ready for Cairo but there may not be anyone more ready than the Titans. Make sure you subscribe to see Evolution: Cairo as soon as it drops, you will not want to miss this!
