ONE OF THE HOTTEST PROSPECTS IN HISTORY
After weeks of hype, Storm: Mumbai is finally here and it kicks off with one of the biggest stories in recent GAW history. Legendary Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson makes his debut in front of a raucous crowd. He thanked the fans for all they’ve done for him and the culture they’ve helped create. But his incredible debut was spoiled by the wXw champ Drew McIntyre who chastised Steveson for talking up the difficulties and perils of amateur wrestling. Steveson, to his credit, stood tall and didn’t allow McIntyre to intimidate him; but that was also his downfall. McIntyre pounded him with a vicious low blow and stood over his body. Welcome to GAW, Gable.
The first match saw ZSJ & Ospreay put their tag titles on the line against two-time champions War Machine who had been very critical of the current champs’ reign. But after all the talk, War Machine backed it up, surviving ZSJ & Ospreay’s attacks to allow Rowe to hit ZSJ with a Stormbreaker, one last insult to cap off ZSJ & Ospreay’s short tag title reign.
Next up, Ember Moon defends the US Title against former World Champ Dakota Kai. Kai had some big talk coming in but, unlike War Machine, she couldn’t back it up. Moon hit the devastating Eclipse to win and retain.
Next up, if you can believe it, Chuck Norris announced Bash at the Beach 2022 would be coming to South Padre Island, Texas. The event begins next month so make sure you’re subscribed!
Kacy Catanzaro goes for her first defense of the World Title against Shayna Baszler. This is Baszler’s second attempt to capture the World Title and, unfortunately for her, it went about as well as her first. Catanzaro’s speed was unbeatable and the World Champ retained the title after a flurry of lightning-fast offense with a 360-Codebreaker she calls Warrior’s Way.
The House of Black make their debut as a team against former tag champions the Skymen. Aleister Black, a former two-time World Champion in his own right, has already led his prospect Matt Riddle to new heights but now, as a team, they seem unstoppable. Black finished off Robbie Eagles with a vicious Black Mass like he’s done so many times in the last two years. After the match, the lights went out, which gave Black enough time to abduct Robbie Eagles a second time.
In the main event, Keith Lee defends the World Title against for Intercontinental Champion Bandido. It was a match between two of the best athletes on the planet but Lee’s strength proved to be the difference. Bandido was too quick to succumb to Lee’s usual attacks like the Spirit Bomb and the Ground Zero but Lee’s strength and agility combined for a devastating Pounce that ended the match. But the story was far from over. After the match, IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion Taiji Ishimori attacked Bandido following their match a few weeks ago. The Bone Soldier hit two Bloody Crosses on the outside before fleeing the scene to cap off a wild Mumbai event.
