HOLLYWOOD TAKEOVER
After a terrifying 7 Days on Halloween, this week’s show opens with the Apex Champion addressing the masses. Andrews, arrogant as always, berated Max Ultimate for losing and being attacked by Oliver Parker but he couldn’t get far in his verbal assault; Eddie Hernandez confronted him to the cheers of everyone in attendance and at home. Hernandez reminded the champ that he promised Hernandez a title match should Hernandez’s team win Rookie of the Year. Takahashi’s run to the title secured Hernandez a title opportunity and, for all of Andrews’ whining and complaining, Hernandez assured that Jason Parker takes the word of the champ seriously and that match will go down as planned.
Backstage, Yun-Son Park tried to offer advice to young phenom Yamamoto as she tries to recover from her loss to Kaitlyn Dunlap. But no one was prepared for what happened next…. wrestling legend Kenny Omega came up and offered his own bit of advice to Moto. It seems that the most talented prospect GAW has ever seen now has a legend in her corner.
The first match sees the Tag Team Champions take on a pair of rookies as the Demon Wolves battle Chris Alexa and Marlon Wright. While the rookies may have a bright future, the Demon Wolves were just too good on this occasion, dominating Wright and winning the match in five minutes.
Max Ultimate will not back down from Oliver Parker, he made that clear in a defiant statement backstage.
Andrew Wesley continues his comeback from an emotional Season 2 in a match against Joshua Moore. Moore has had to face down some of the toughest men in the world as of late so he was ready for Wesley. At the same time, Wesley seemed especially motivated in this match and he got the job done in the end. Constant attacks on the neck of Moore culminated in a snap neckbreaker off the ropes to win the match for the former tag team champion.
No one could have guessed what came after the match, though. Wesley grabbed a mic and proceeded to apologize to GAW, the fans and Franky Omega for his actions last season. Wesley admitted he and Omega had the world at their fingertips as tag champions and he gave it away. He basically begged for forgiveness in the ring.
Backstage, Mr. Sinister confirmed Takahashi will have his first Evolution match next week and there are still questions about the relationship between those two.
Eric Cole makes his long-anticipated GAW debut against Angelo Diaz. Cole came in with a scouting report similar to that of his wildly-successful brother but can he turn that into GAW success? The answer was yes against Diaz. Cole’s pace and toughness stood out as he weathered an early storm from the massive LVC enforcer and hit a Heisman Kick and a massive elbow drop to win. After the match, however, LVC debuted two athletes of their own. We have no idea who these men are, but one of them charged the ring and speared Eric Cole twice out of nowhere. Marco Diaz caught up to Derrick Cole backstage to stop him from saving his brother. A second man assaulted Eric as he was thrown to the outside, powerbombing him on the hard ground.
In the main event, Devon Andrews continues his Herculean schedule against YouTube superstar Brandon Collins. Collins’ only GAW match came in a loss against Consequences Creed but he clearly learned and he came within inches of beating Andrews on multiple occasions. But no one has faced a tougher schedule than the British brawler; Andrews was not to be beat on this day. He survived a huge DDT from Collins and the YouTuber went to the top. He came off looking for the win, but he hit the ground unconscious as Andrews absolutely laid him out with a vicious right hand for the win.
