BASH AT THE BEACH NIGHT 1!!

25 years after Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall and Kevin Nash formed the nWo and changed the world, GAW is changing wrestling again! Welcome to Bash at the Beach, a massive two-week event that will feature, for the first time ever, matches from both Storm and Stormchaser!!

Night 1 began in a major way when MidNight defended his RAW Title against the 20 year-old phenom Igris. We knew coming in the rookie would do his homework and he certainly did as he pushed MidNight harder than we have seen since MidNight debuted in GAW. Igris came within inches of becoming the new champion but MidNight proved too much for the young man as the champ hit the Sleepwalker for the win. Igris has a blindingly bright future, we know that, but this night belonged to MidNight.

Bobby Lashley stepped into the ring without Conor McGregor to defend his Intercontinental Title. We know Lashley aims to be the most decorated Intercontinental Champion ever and he believed he would get an easy payday against Ricochet; it was anything but. Even though Ricochet has really struggled this season, he pushed Lashley to the brink and very nearly became the champion on the back of his incredible quickness and a series of roundhouse kicks that nearly knocked Lashley out. But in the end, Lashley withstood every attack and hit the spear to retain. It can’t have felt good for Lashley as he had expected a much easier fight but he’s leaving Daytona Beach with his title and that’s what he aimed to do.

Backstage, Lieter and Dagonite addressed the fans before their Tag Team Title match. Lieter is a legend of the GAW Academy as he was the Academy’s first and still its most decorated tag team champion as part of the Titans. Now Lieter has decided to bring the Titans name back with his 20 year old monster Dagonite. The two have trained hard for months and Lieter believes it is their time to be champions again. So the final match of the night was for the reactivated Tag Team Titles as WAR battled the reformed Titans. It was as good a match as you could ever want with both teams coming within inches of winning the titles. At one point, WAR hit their devastating War Ender finisher but Dagonite was able to break up the pin. Finally, the Titans found an opening as they were able to toss Isaiah Hannibal out of the ring to leave Vick Cassidy alone. Lieter hoisted Cassidy up onto his shoulders and Dagonite came flying from the top rope with the Doomsday Device, ending the match and winning the titles. The Titans are the first modern tag team champions in the GAW Academy and Lieter has solidified his place as the greatest tag team wrestler in Academy history.

Coming up on Night 2 this Wednesday, La Tortuga Roja takes on former student Jackel in a steel cage and Tegan Nox battles Bianca Belair with the US Title on the line!
