THREE MATCHES TO BEGIN THE SERIES

The biggest event in the history of GAW begins with a battle of undefeated champions. Intercontinental champ Bandido takes on RAW champ MidNight, loser must defend their title in an open contract next week. The match was as good as everyone was expecting as it featured two of the best pure wrestlers in the game today. But after nearly 15 minutes of an insane back and forth, MidNight kicked out of a Heatseeker and hit two Sleepwalkers to end the match and notch the first victory for the Academy.

Next up, the Wing Collectors take on the Skymen in a battle of the two newest champions in GAW. Nothing could have prepared us for the twist this match took. Once again, it was clear the two champions were on the same level and no one was able to break through… until Oliver Parker showed up. The dangerous former champion in Dragongate stared down his long term rival Andrew Wesley and Wesley was waiting for a tag. Wesley shockingly left the match altogether to pursue Parker up the ramp! Alone in the ring, Franky Omega fell prey to the devastating hurricanrana/powerbomb combination from the Storm champs and the Skymen tied up the series.

Backstage, Chris Danger talked even more trash about Kofi Kingston ahead of their main event match at Warpath on Wednesday.

The main event of night 1 sees the top two women in GAW face off as Ronda Rousey takes on Ballesca Pierce. Pierce seemed to get the better of Rousey in the match locking her in Queen Guinevere’s Curse after a vicious axe kick… but then the worst case scenario happened. Shayna Baszler came down to distract the referee, preventing him from seeing Rousey tap out to Pierce’s submission. Pierce, trying to figure out what was going on, turned her back on Rousey allowing the World Champ to flatten her with a pair of brass knuckles. The ref turned and saw Rousey make the cover. After the match, Rousey and Baszler lit up Pierce with stomps, leaving the Academy Champ lying in the middle of the ring. Rousey has officially joined the White Company.
