UPSET OF THE YEAR??

We’re in the aftermath of one of the worst developments of the season: Igris has won the Apex Championship. In front of a still-stunned crowd, Igris took credit for his win and bragged about hoisting Evolution’s top prize. There was stunned silence as Igris claimed he was always on the path to be champion and he left the crowd stunned as he exited.

The first match of the night sees Island Nation go up against Pretty Bad Deal in a tremendous tag team match. It was power vs speed and there were plenty of opportunities for both teams to take the win. But in the end, it was PDB’s old enemies that came back to bite them. Eric Cole pulled Shawn Alexander off the apron as it seemed PBD was on the verge of winning the match, allowing Eddie Tonga to hit Jacob Ace with the Island Blood and win.

Backstage, Dagonite was in the middle of taking credit for Igris’s title win when former champion Eddie Hernandez showed up and attacked the giant. Dagonite was able to get away with only his pride severely hurt.

Queen Alexia returns for her second match in as many weeks against Kristin Sakamoto. The young Alexia was able to deal with Kristin’s MMA style well, defeating the fighter with a Queen’s Crown. 

Max Ultimate has had an up and down first two seasons in GAW but this match is undoubtedly his finest moment. Ultimate got a rematch against former Apex Champion Kurt Andrews just a few weeks after Andrews defeated Ultimate with the title on the line. This time, Ultimate learned and came out more motivated than we’ve ever seen. Ultimate matched Andrews’ pace throughout the match, staying away from Kurt’s most dangerous offense before hitting the Max Damage for the huge upset win. After the match, Andrews jumped the young man but that doesn’t take away from Ultimate’s incredible performance.

In the main event, Omega Woods defends the RAW Title against Ulysses Sky. Sky has been in and around the RAW Title picture off and on since its inception but, once again, he was unable to overcome the champ. Woods put on a clinic en route to another successful title defense.
