And We're Not Slowing Down

After a video recapping an unbelievable Nitro 12 event, Apex Champion Igris comes out to address the fans. As he has been the last two years, Igris announced he will be involved in the opening match of GAW Season 4. But where he fought a fully-prepared Eddie Hernandez in Season 2 and a willing Xavier Cross in Season 3, the dastardly champ picked his own opponent this time. Dagonite came out carrying Max Ultimate after the young man had been assaulted by the RD7 enforcer. Dagonite dumped him in the ring, the bell was rung and New Season, New Challenge had begun. Ultimate fought valiantly but his injuries were too much to defeat Igris. The champ retained with a modified DDT that clearly demonstrated his arsenal is growing by the day.

We got a look into the lives of new champions as we followed Island Nation through Hawaii after they won the Tag Titles at Nitro. They enjoyed Luaos, fire dancing and the best views on the island. But, according to Eddie Tonga, their reign is just beginning and they have much more still to accomplish.

Swerve Strickland brings the newly-reactivated Cruiserweight Championship to Evolution for the first time ever. Former Apex Champion Flyboy was waiting for him. They had a classic GAW cruiserweight style match. Flyboy used most of his offensive time to attack Swerve’s midsection in an attempt to stop the champ from taking to the skies. Swerve, for his part, chose his moments well and was able to disrupt Flyboy’s offense for long enough to avoid any of his major moves. Finally, Swerve opened up enough space to hit the JML Driver and retain the title.

It’s finally time to unveil the World Wrestling Center, a beautiful facility in Orlando, Florida that will host the 2023 Wrestling World Cup. We also got the announcement of our first matchup as hosts USA will open the historic tournament against new GAW World Champion Drew McIntyre and the UK.

In the main event, Takahashi defends the RAW Title for the first time in his reign but things became drastically more complicated before the match. His opponent, Lars Nightfall, tracked him down and attacked him viciously backstage. Nightfall approached the ring with a ruthless intent and Takahashi, fresh off his Rookie of the Year campaign, clutched his newly-won belt close. Unfortunately, Nightfall’s pre-match attack was too much for Takahashi to overcome. In front of a stunned and heartbroken crowd, Nightfall hit the Hell’s Spite discus boot to defeat the second-year champ and win the RAW Title.
