FROST VS COLE FOR THE APEX CHAMPIONSHIP

The main event of this week’s Evolution features one of the most anticipated matches in Evolution history but, before we even got there, we got a classic Underground parlay. Lancelot came out to address the crowd after his loss in the Three Strikes match last week but, before he had truly gotten going, RAW Champion Santanico made his entrance. The undefeated King of the Underground questioned why Lancelot was out at all after losing such a high profile match and pointed out that Lancelot had sustained several big losses as of late. But before the former Apex Champion could respond, a third Underground legend entered the fold. Omega Woods made his entrance for the first time since Nitro 11. The three legends stood toe to toe in the ring, exchanging barbs and challenges. But the upshot is one of the biggest matches GAW has ever seen: Santanico vs Woods vs Lancelot for the RAW Title.

Kaitlyn Dunlap returns for her first action of the season after challenging Yamamoto last week. Dunlap clearly hasn’t missed a step as she dominated Sophia Sweetness, cracking her with a springboard kick to win.

Backstage, Garrett Gibson is talking with Lee Carr when Braddock confronted him. Braddock taunted Gibson, telling him he’s a pretender as an Underground wrestler and daring him to accept a challenge for a match.

Pretty Bad Deal is still trying to recover from a loss to Hernandez&Park and they will attempt to do it against a duo of young men with further-reaching aspirations. Both Joshua Moore and Raymond Church intend to coax Lieter out of his sudden sabbatical and team with him. Both of them made their pitch to the tag team icon but they weren’t able to get the win for their troubles. PBD’s experience and tag team savvy were too much for the green wrestlers and Jacob Ace got the win after a submission he has spent months perfecting.

It’s finally time for the main event, one of the biggest matches in Evolution history straight on the heels of GAW history in the Three Strikes match. Their battle will go down as one of the great matches in Evolution history; they were perfectly matched in nearly every way and they fought in a back and forth affair for nearly 20 minutes. Even Killshots and Cole Cuts couldn’t win the match; but Marco Diaz could. After Cole kicked out of a hellacious Frost powerbomb, Diaz rushed down to the ring. Cole tried to call him off but was nearly cost his title by a Frost rollup. Cole kicked out and waxed Frost with a Heisman Kick to retain in a match with more stories coming out than it had going in.
