ADAM COLE RETURNS TO CHANGE GAW

In the main event of Bash at the Beach, Adam Cole returned to win the Rumble on the Beach and become the #1 contender to Keith Lee’s World Title. Cole opened the first show after GAW’s summer party and proceeded to potentially change GAW forever. Cole took us back through the last two years of his GAW career which has been one disappointment after another. But, according to Cole, all of that was because he had lost his identity. When he became one of the biggest stars in the world, according to him, he was joined by other like-minded individuals that helped him grow as a wrestler. Now he’s ready to follow that same formula with his new group he calls the Black and Gold. Cole’s new organization made a huge splash almost immediately as Mark Coffey, one of England’s finest and most dangerous talents, dragged out World Champion Keith Lee and threw him into the ring, allowing Cole to lower the Boom on his new rival.

In the first match of the night, Claudio Castagnoli takes on former Intercontinental Champ Matt Hardy after the Swiss Superman debuted in the Rumble. Castagnoli was determined to make a better showing than he did in the Rumble and he certainly did, cutting off Hardy in the middle of an Avalanche Twist of Fate and hitting a trademark Euro uppercut. He finished off the former champ and legend with an absolutely spectacular spinning Blue Thunder Bomb.

Next up, World Champ Kacy Catanzaro takes on the increasingly-desperate Charlotte Flair. Flair continues to be one of the most polished wrestlers in the world; however, Catanzaro proved once again she is on another level. She avoided all of Flair’s offense, blending hyper-athleticism with supreme tactical knowledge to put together a dominant performance. The champ finished off the Queen with her beautiful Indian Death Lock. We learned after the match Io Shirai, former GAW World Champion herself, will return next week to battle for #1 contendership against Dakota Kai.

In the main event, Moustache Mountain reunited for the first time in three years in GAW to take on Gifted Punishment. Adam Cole joined the commentary desk and shed some light on his recruiting process. He admitted to actively recruiting Claudio Castagnoli ahead of his match and also took credit for bringing Moustache Mountain back to GAW. The team representing the Black and Gold delivered a classic performance in their return, outlasting the former championship challengers and hitting Damian Martinez with a classic Trent Seven Burning Hammer for the win.
