WALTER GIVES HIS FINAL CHALLENGE
In our final show before Northern Lights, we see a glimpse of some of the unbridled chaos that awaits us in Seattle. Our show today begins with the fifth qualifier for the Challenger Briefcase Ladder match. Zack Sabre Jr got his chance at redemption after WALTER cost him his chance at the World Title last week. He took on Sin Cara and he came in as vicious with his submissions as always. Sin Cara never found an opening in ZSJ’s defense and the submission master finished off the luchador with a grounded hammerlock stretch to punch his ticket to the biggest ladder match of the year.
Backstage, Rey Mysterio calls in Intercontinental Champion Bandido. He apologized to the champ for letting himself be attacked last week and warned Bandido that he should never go looking for trouble alone. Bandido agreed reluctantly but Mysterio had a bigger request for his young charge. The legend asked one of the sports brightest young stars to team with him in a match against Bobby Lashley and Conor McGregor. Bandido was dumbstruck and the match was made official for Northern Lights.
Ember Moon takes on Kairi Sane in her final tuneup before facing Dakota Kai at Northern Lights. Sane but up a hell of fight but that’s exactly what Moon was expecting. After several dodged Insane Elbows and Eclipses, Moon finally hit her finishing move on the third attempt for the win. After the match, Kai slid into the ring behind her challenger to hit the Kairopractor. The champ went up top to try to finish Moon off. Ronda Rousey ran out to move Moon out of harm’s way. Kai jumped down off the top fuming but Rousey did not back down.
Backstage, interviewer Nick Grey caught up with Hernandez. The LAX patriarch celebrated as usual about Rosita’s US Title win, not even acknowledging Ruby Riott has a chance to win the title at Northern Lights. But when Grey asked a question about the state of LAX, Hernandez was clearly taken aback. He ignored the question entirely and walked away screaming about the revolution he was creating.
Our main event came with the newest member of the GAW roster fighting for one of the biggest opportunities of his career. Shelton Benjamin took on Buddy Murphy in a Challenger Briefcase ladder match qualifier. Murphy has been a man without an island since the Bladerunners split up and he was a prime target for Benjamin’s attack. The veteran hit the Paydirt to win and claim the final spot in the Challenger Briefcase ladder match.
WALTER came out to the ring. The sadistic Austrian took out a solid wooden table and set it up in the middle of the ring. He called out Aleister Black. The World Champ answered. The two engaged in a venomous war of words ahead of their third match at Northern Lights. Of course the punches started flying. Black got the first hits in but WALTER turned the tables and set him up on the table. From the top, the Ring General flew down towards the table. Black moved and WALTER smashed through the table. Black saw his opportunity and unleashed a vicious Black Mass. But WALTER was too quick, he ducked and put the champ in a crushing rear naked choke. Black refused to tap but the sadistic nature of his challenger spelled his doom anyway. Black was choked unconscious and left lying in the ring.
We went off the air with one final announcement: the main event of GAW Northern Lights beginning Monday August 23 will be WALTER vs Aleister Black in the steel cell.
