TAG LEGENDS, FORMER CHAMPS RETURN
With less than a month to go before Nitro 11, we begin our show with former US Champion Kacy Catanzaro. The world class athlete hasn’t had a GAW match in a year but, as she showed against Kairi Sane, she hasn’t missed a beat. Catanzaro proved she is still the quickest, springiest, most athletic woman in GAW, beating Sane with a beautiful standing sky twister in two minutes. Backstage, Ronda Rousey watched the match and walked away from the monitor without a word, certainly putting her confidence in doubt.
Aleister Black spoke for the first time since abducting Matt Riddle last week and he made one thing clear: the duo promises to be one of the most dangerous combos in GAW history.
Former Intercontinental Champion Bandido further gets his winning run started again as he goes up against Jeff Hardy. As good as Hardy was in the GAW Classic, Bandido’s lucha style and incredible athleticism was too much for the veteran. Bandido got the win with a classic Heatseaker.
Backstage, the White Company seemingly gets two new challengers. First, Ember Moon says she blames Shayna Baszler for what Ronda Rousey did to the women’s division and she promised to take Baszler’s US Title as punishment. Chris Sabin seemingly ignores Paul Heyman’s warning about not going after new IC Champ Moose… it looks like Sabin has his eyes set on that title.
One year ago, the Usos defeated the Guerillas of Destiny at Nitro to win the Tag Titles for the second time. Now they are set on doing the same thing at Nitro 11 and they mean business. After several battles against TMDK, you’d think their match against the Australians this time would be a 50/50 affair. The Usos made sure they proved they’re on another level even now as they blew out TMDK, ending the match quickly with a Jimmy Uso superkick.
Backstage, Chris Danger makes yet another cryptic warning and Paul Heyman, verbose as always, tries his best to intimidate Brock Lesnar’s two potential Nitro opponents ahead of the GAW Classic finals.
We get to that match now as Group A winner Keith Lee battles Group B winner Jay White, both of whom went through the group stage undefeated. Despite White’s attempts to intimidate and injure Lee, the limitless one would not be denied here. For 15 minutes, Lee dominated White. At every turn, White escaped by the skin of his teeth despite Lee’s offensive blitz. But it all caught up to him when Lee hit his fourth bone-rattling Pounce followed by a picture-perfect moonsault to win. Miraculously, unexpectedly, Keith Lee is going to Nitro!
