THE GREAT WON'T CROUCH

On Friday Night Storm, we’re always forward thinking! This week sees the reformation of one of the most hateable tag teams in the world plus an Intercontinental Title #1 contenders match!

But we began this week with LAX, more specifically Rosita with her mentor Hernandez in her corner. There’s no doubt Rosita has enjoyed a renaissance since joining forces with Hernandez but on this night, we found out what that might mean. While Bianca Belair controlled most of the match, Rosita got the advantage by pulling off one of the top turnbuckle pads. With Belair in trouble, the referee turned his back to re-cover the dangerous exposed turnbuckle. This was a mistake. Rosita donned a set of brass knuckles and knocked Belair out with one punch. Exchange. 1-2-3. Rosita wins.

After a dirty win, we deserved a treat and boy did we get it. Drew McIntyre battled Keith Lee in a terrific match which finally ended with a McIntyre Claymore. We learned later that that win for Drew was a prelude to his World Title #1 contenders match next week!

Shane Thorne and Nick Miller shocked the world at Nitro 10 when Thorne beat Adam Cole in the Goldberg Beat the Clock Challenge. Well TM-61 is back full time in GAW and with a new look to boot. But it wasn’t just the look that stunned us all; Thorne and Miller took the former Tag Team Champions to school in a shockingly one sided match. The Guerillas of Destiny had no answer for the chemistry of TM-61 and Shane Thorne put the match away with a viscous lariat to the back of Tanga Loa.

But the Australians weren’t done… backstage the two announce the return of their old name “The Mighty Don’t Kneel” and that they’ve returned full time to GAW to dominate the tag division.

The main event on this night was a six-man battle royal to determine the #1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship (or as some call it, the next poor soul for Bobby Lashley to eviscerate). It was entertaining battle as they usually are, with Zach Sabre Jr, Buddy Murphy, PAC and Kofi Kingston all going out to leave Adam Cole and Ricochet in the ring. Cole seemed to have won the whole thing with a Florida Keys and a Last Shot, but Conor McGregor had other plans… the arrogant Irishman ran into the ring and dropped Cole. Ricochet made his way to his feet, promptly broke Cole’s nose with a forearm and sent him out of the ring. Why did McGregor involve himself in this match? Only time will tell…

Next week, the Usos return with the Tag Team Championships and McIntyre, Sabre, WALTER and Will Ospreay battle for World Championship #1 contendership!
