The Ring General Is Not Happy
Last week’s World Title #1 contenders match ended with absolute carnage and WALTER stepped out of the rubble as Aleister Black’s next challenger.
The Ring General opened the show with a stinging attack on Aleister Black, a man he called “lucky” to beat Kenny Omega at Nitro. There’s no doubt WALTER is a massive threat, figuratively and literally, but if anyone is up to the challenge it would be Aleister Black.
And the World Champ got a chance to show us all that that’s the case in the opening match. Black took on Keith Lee following Lee’s win on Dark a few days prior. With WALTER watching on, Black planted two knees between the eyes of the 300 pounder and pinned for the win. WALTER walked away following the dominant victory and we wait to see when the two of them will meet in the ring.
From World Title #1 contender to Intercontinental Title #1 contender, Ricochet takes on the former champ Kofi Kingston. Conor McGregor helped Ricochet win #1 contendership but now Ricochet is out to prove it wasn’t a fluke. Unfortunately, it may have been just that as Ricochet couldn’t get it done against the fan favorite. He walked right into a Trouble in Paradise and suffered his first singles loss of the season.
CM Punk made national headlines when he attacked Conor McGregor during last week’s main event and now the former Mob ringer returns to action against the former world champion PAC. But the match barely got started before McGregor got involved (who could’ve seen that coming). When Punk turned his back to confront the brash Irishman, PAC took advantage, rolling up Punk to steal the win. There’s no doubt Punk and McGregor are on a collision course and a match between the two is inevitable…
The Mighty Don’t Kneel are the newest up and comers on the block and while their ability in the ring can make them a fan favorite, their words make them two of the most hated men in the company. They got on the mic before their main event match to draw our attention to the… ahem… deficiencies in Norway, the country TMDK’s opponents hail from. Thorne and Miller claim they are the next big things in tag wrestling, the Usos have no style or substance and TMDK will be the next Tag Team Champions.
War Machine have the chance to shut up the arrogant Australians but they and everyone else underestimated how good TMDK truly are. The Mighty took War Machine to school in this match, finally ending with a Shane Thorne coast to coast. Don’t be fooled, as loud as TMDK are, they are equally dangerous.
Next week, Bandido and Suicide open the show, WALTER takes on Ospreay in a rematch of one of season one’s best contests and Bobby Lashley defends his Intercontinental Championship against CM Punk!
