CONOR, DAKOTA, BLACK AND PUNK!

A new era of Storm begins on Friday! We open the show with Aleister Black, the new World Champion and the first man to beat Kenny Omega in the main event of Nitro. Black- fittingly- didn’t say a word. Instead, he demonstrated his unstoppable power with a win over Cody Rhodes. Black knocked out the American Nightmare with a Black Mass.

Backstage, Dakota Kai taunts Asuka over her loss (of course) and claims to be better than every woman in the company. She also revealed a new title belt prominently featuring the flag of her home country Australia. While many might disagree with Kai’s bold claims, she certainly proved she’s willing to put her money where her mouth is. Kai almost removed Charlotte Flair’s jaw with a running boot and the new champ wins her first match of the new season.

Rey Mysterio shocked the audience at Nitro by joining Bandido’s side after the Goldberg Beat the Clock Challenge. Mysterio made clear his intentions, and they were perhaps more shocking than his return… the legend welcomed Hernandez after reminding us of the legacy of Mexican wrestling. Hernandez declared the Latin American Exchange is more important than ever and they have much to show us. And show they did as Bandido crunched Buddy Murphy with a poison-rana and gave LAX their first win in GAW.

Main event time and it was a straight forward affair. Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley put his belt on the line against the man who beat him for it one year ago. Adam Cole picked up a win on Dark but he was clearly outmatched here. Cole did give himself hope by hitting a Last Show out of nowhere but Conor McGregor was one step ahead, making sure the referee couldn’t make a count. Lashley answered with a military press into a power slam and we’re still not sure Adam Cole has gotten up yet. After the proceedings, Conor McGregor called CM Punk out to the ring. McGregor began by thanking Punk for helping the Mob defeat the Bladerunners at Nitro 10. But the pleasant conversation quickly turned sour as the Irish bad boy told Punk he was being used and now was useless. McGregor booted Punk below the belt and left the former World Champ lying in the ring to close the show.

Next week, Rosita is back in action now a part of LAX, Keith Lee returns after a brutal Nitro match and we get a battle royal for Intercontinental Championship #1 contendership!
