CHAMPS VS BULLET CLUB
On the final show before Bash at the Beach we begin with Ricochet taking on Matt Riddle representing the House of Black. Riddle had not lost since joining the House but Ricochet had so much to prove in this match, a win seemed inevitable from the beginning. His athleticism and speed were too much for Riddle and Ricochet won the match with a springboard 450 splash. Afterword, however, the plot thickened. Aleister Black’s voice assured Ricochet nothing could simulate the Black Mass and then he demonstrated his point, showing up in the ring to hit a vicious Black Mass on his Bash opponent. The two will go at it in South Padre Island in a steel cage!
We saw a clip from Chris Danger interrupting a Consequences Creed stream where both men got heated. It ended with Danger promising to throw Creed off a scaffold during their street fight at Bash.
La Rebelion took on former GAW Tag Team Champions Guerillas of Destiny in what was a shockingly one-sided match. Angel Garza completely neutralized Tanga Loa while Humberto Carillo beat Tama Tonga in the ring for La Rebelion’s first win in GAW.
It seems Ember Moon and Bianca Belair are not as friendly as many had assumed. We saw a clip from a pre-Bash press conference between the two where Belair took offense to Moon saying she had done plenty of scouting on the challenger. Whatever you do, do not count Bianca Belair out in her US Title match.
We also got to hear from Chris Sabin and James Storm before they lock horns over the Intercontinental Title. The most profound statement came from the Cowboy who acknowledged a last ride is never guaranteed but, if this is going to be his last, he’s just happy it can be against someone like Sabin
Next up, the World Champion Kacy Catanzaro gets her best scouting opportunity yet as she takes on Jessamyn Duke. Catanzaro will be facing Duke’s longtime training partner Shayna Baszler in a submission match and she demonstrated in this contest she’s ready for the challenge. She flew in for a spectacular takedown on Duke and locked her in a modified Indian Deathlock to force the MMA trained fighter to submit.
In the main event, World Champion Keith Lee teamed up with Bandido to take on the Bullet Club duo of Jay White and Taiji Ishimori. After an excellent match, Lee and White exchanged huge blows on the outside while Ishimori tried to take advantage of the distracted referee to knock Bandido out with brass knuckles. But the former IC champ was two steps ahead and he answered with a 22 Plex to win. After the match, all hell broke loose. Ishimori tried to attack Bandido again but he was thwarted by Rey Mysterio. Meanwhile, Lee and White continued to throw blows outside before their World Title match. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that Bash at the Beach will be unforgettable.
