IT'S WAR GOING
INTO NITRO
It’s the final episode of GAW before Nitro 11, an unbelievable Season 2 journey is coming to a close… but not before an absolutely wild episode of Storm sends us home right. We begin with Kacy Catanzaro going for some serious momentum against the dangerous free agent Sonya Deville. But about 90 seconds into the match, the World Champ tried to get in one last dig. Rousey’s music hit and Catanzaro turned away from her opponent, a mistake she nearly came to regret. But she manage to kick out of Deville’s attempted sneaky pinfall and went on to hit the gravity-defying springboard 450 for the win.
Next up, Consequences Creed enters for his first GAW match against old TNA rival Suicide. Creed won with relative ease, using his trademark combination of style and athleticism (along with a brutal striking combination) to pick up the quick victory. But things were about to get much worse. After that match, Chris Danger came out to taunt Creed but he brought a friend… one of Creed’s friends. He dragged out Kofi Kingston and Creed pursued him all the way up the ramp.
We learned from Aleister Black that he has arranged for Matt Riddle’s first match representing the House of Black at Nitro against Shelton Benjamin.
The Usos try to earn their way to Nitro for the second year in a row as they take on ZSJ and Ospreay for the chance to fight the Skymen for the Tag Titles. But even the Usos underestimated how good the new team has become. ZSJ hit the butterfly suplex which forced Jey Uso into the ring. Osprey dealt with him then turned around to hit the legal Jimmy Uso with a standing Spanish fly. It left him in perfect position for a ZSJ hammerlock armbar for the win and, against all odds, ZSJ & Ospreay are going to Nitro.
Or are they? After the match, the Skymen hit the ring to brutalize both men with a special focus on Sabre’s left arm. Robbie Eagles lit it up with a sledgehammer putting the #1 contenders’ Nitro future in serious jeapardy.
It’s time for the main event as Chris Sabin and Keith Lee team up to take on their Nitro opponents Moose and Brock Lesnar of the White Company. The match was absolute chaos from the bell and it didn’t get any simpler. Once Sabin had to come in to break up a Moose pin, though, it was off the rails. The four men brawled in the ring with seemingly no concern for the result of the contest. Finally, the referee had no choice but to call the match a no-contest but that didn’t stop the warring. Rousey, Catanzaro, Shayna Baszler and Ember Moon went at it backstage while Will Ospreay and Ricochet joined the fracas in the ring making for the craziest scenes in a Storm ring since Battlefield.
That’s how our final show before Nitro went off the air. If you’re not subscribed yet, go head over to YouTube right now because Nitro begins March 7 and you do NOT want to miss a second!
