AFTERPARTY WILL BE ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE
On the final Storm before Afterparty we get a look at every match going down at this insane event. We began in the ring with Intercontinental Champion Bobby Lashley taking on one of his predecessors Kofi Kingston. While Kingston looked great, he was no match for the champ. Lashley put him away with a spear. But the real story was after the match. Lashley continued the beatdown on Kingston while Conor McGregor got on the mic. The Irishman claimed Lashley is a killer and presented some evidence: Rey Mysterio’s unconscious body. McGregor says Lashley is responsible and it was a message sent to Lashley’s Afterparty opponent Bandido.
Next up, the Tag Team Champions Usos take on the shockingly undefeated B Team. Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel broke up half a dozen sure three counts in a very back and forth match. At the end of the day, the Usos took the win with a single leg crab of all things. After the match, the Usos’ Afterparty opponents hit the ring. TMDK got right to work beating down the Usos. The situation seemed dire when Shane Thorne grabbed a steel chair. Jey Uso overcame the attack just in time, beating down Nick Miller and saving brother Jimmy at the last moment. This pressure cooker is ready to pop at Afterparty!
Backstage, Ronda Rousey says all she wanted was to return to some form of normal after coming up short in her world title challenge at Bash at the Beach. But Dakota Kai wouldn’t let her do that and now Rousey is ready to break some bones. She’ll get that chance at Afterparty when she takes on Dakota Kai in a tables match, the first time a world title has ever been defended in that kind of match!
Damian Martinez battles Buddy Murphy in Martinez’s first match back after an attack by Jay White and Drew McIntyre. Martinez wasted no time in beating the former member of the Bladerunners, dropping the former cruiserweight champ with the South of Heaven. After the match, Jay White hit the ring, dropped Martinez with a Bladerunner and left. Just the sort of attack we’ve come to expect from him.
We get a sense of the stakes in the US Title match between Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. Belair sees her opportunity to be a true US Champion and represent the title. Charlotte Flair is desperate to win her first championship in GAW, an award she has always felt is well past due.
Our main event sees WALTER battle Adam Cole ahead of the Austrian’s world title match with Aleister Black. WALTER could have made quick work of Cole but he had more pain in mind. WALTER put on such a beating with his vicious chops, punches and power bombs that the referee had to call off the match for Cole’s safety. WALTER stared into the camera and declared Aleister Black will not go home after Friday. Will WALTER live up to his chilling threat? Afterparty is just seven days away on May 28, make sure you subscribe on YouTube to see it!!
