PROPER 12, HOUSE OF BLACK AND DOUBLE CHAMPS
After Battle at Broadway, it’s hard to see the similarities between Storm now and three weeks ago. But one thing is for sure: Conor McGregor has big plans for General Admission Wrestling. We found that out from the man himself to start off the show.
Perhaps fittingly, Pete Dunne opened up the first match of Storm’s return, representing the Black and Gold against Buddy Murphy. Dunne did surprisingly well against Murphy’s pace, keeping him under control until his famous joint manipulation was able to win him the day.
We heard from Aleister Black who still will not reveal the identities of the House of Black’s newest tributes. But it seems as though Black is preparing them for tag team success.
Taya Valkyrie returned to the ring after nearly taking the US Title from Ember Moon and she faced down a former US Champion in Tegan Nox. Nox seemed blissfully unaware that fans are still very sour on her after she cost Kacy Catanzaro the title two years ago. Valkyrie survived a huge Shining Wizard from Nox and hit two surfboard curb stomps to win the day. Could the Queen of Lucha Libre have GAW gold on her mind once again?
One man who certainly does have gold on his mind is former Intercontinental Champion WALTER. The Ring General came tantalizingly close to winning the World Title at Battle at Broadway but came away empty-handed; but we announced he’ll have a shot at the wXw crown next month when he takes on Unified Champion Drew McIntyre. We also announced Ember Moon will put the US Title on the line with an open contract next week.
In the main event, Davey Richards and Chris Sabin both try to respond from bitter losses in the Manhattan Center. Richards still believes he is the rightful MLW and WCPW champion after a controversial match at Broadway but his claims will mean nothing if he can’t get a win over a top-tier wrestler. Sabin suffered bitter defeat against Matt Riddle last week but he could begin his road back to gold with a win. He knew he had to survive an Ankle Lock to do it but, when he did, he seemed destined for the victory. He even hit his modified street cutter and a cross-legged Samoan driver but Richards survived that too. Finally, Richards slipped off Sabin’s shoulders in what looked like a Cradle Shock attempt, picked the ankle and forced Sabin to tap with the Ankle Lock. It’s a statement from Richards has he tries to chase down Ospreay.
