TITLE MATCH OUT OF NOWHERE??

After Party is a week away but there are much more dire events on the minds of many GAW wrestlers. Intercontinental Champion Chris Sabin is one of them and he addressed his concerns to open up the show. Sabin said, in no uncertain terms, neither he nor anyone he knows would back down before Adam Cole and the Black and Gold. The leader of the new group decided to challenge Sabin’s convictions, however, as he strode out to the ring. Sabin stood firm and accepted a challenge for his title from the Black and Gold, a match we would see later in the show.

The first match of the night saw Will Ospreay return as a singles competitor for the first time since last season against Pete Dunne who, presumably, has joined his British Strongstyle brothers in the Black and Gold. The two have a history of tremendous matches and today was no different. But Ospreay seems to be on a mission as he kicked out of the Bitter End and won with a shooting star press and a Stormbreaker. After the match, Ospreay got on the mic and, first, apologized to all the fans and wrestlers of GAW for unifying the Cruiserweight and Intercontinental titles and depriving many wrestlers of a chance to earn gold. But he announced his make-good on the spot: he intends to challenge Davey Richards for the MLW Heavyweight Title and bring that to GAW. Richards, who has been around GAW arenas since Bash at the Beach, walked out to accept the challenge.

Backstage, Keith Lee announced his main event match against Mark Coffey would be an official World Championship match. Presumably, he did this in an effort to keep the Black and Gold away as Cole prepared to challenge for the title at After Party next week.

Consequences Creed finally got his match against Phoenix Nitro after the YouTube star cost Creed his street fight against Chris Danger. Nitro did a tremendous job for this being his first match, but Creed was too experienced and too hot. Nitro got frustrated and tried to end the match in a DQ with a low blow, but Creed cracked him with a knee and hit a second CreeDT to win. After the match, his old rival Chris Danger came out to the ramp. But rather than challenge Creed to another match himself, Danger announced Creed would be fighting yet another YouTube star in Aaron Matthews at After Party.

We got the opportunity to hear from GAW legend Lita as she broke down the upcoming Women’s World Title match between Kacy Catanzaro and Io Shirai. It’s a video well worth watching if you have the time.

Chris Sabin walked into his last-minute title match as one of the most entertaining wrestlers in the world and he would leave it that way as well, but will he leave as champion? Kalisto drew this match on orders from Adam Cole and pushed Sabin to the brink, even hitting a Salida del Sol. But Sabin survived, hit two modified Street Cutters and retained his title in yet another fantastic match.

In the main event, Keith Lee puts his World Title on the line against Mark Coffey. It was a surprising statement by the champ but not completely unexpected as Lee is well known to be a fearless competitor. He needed that instinct against the British brute as well as Coffey took the fight straight to the champ. But Lee, as usual, was up to the task. He mashed Coffey with a bone-rattling pounce and finished him off with the Ground Zero to retain.

After the match, though, things only got worse for the champ. Adam Cole came out to taunt Lee ahead of their title match next week but it was all a ploy; Coffey attacked Lee from behind, leaving him open for a Boom from Cole. The night ended with Cole standing tall over the man he will challenge in the main event of After Party next week.
