BELAIR'S HUGE
MOMENT
War Machine and TMDK have been at each other’s throats since Northern Lights and they write another chapter to their story in this episode. Shane Thorne takes on Rowe in singles action to begin the show. Thorne’s plan was clearly to target the legs of the bigger man and it worked. Rowe showed his toughness by being the first man to kick out of the Clothesline From Down Under but Thorne was not deterred. His strategy prevented Rowe from ever taking advantage and, after three lariats and another Clothesline From Down Under, Thorne picked up the win.
Backstage, Paul Heyman finds Shelton Benjamin. Heyman tells Benjamin he and Brock Lesnar never truly thanked Benjamin for bringing them into GAW and, as a thank you, they will offer him a World Title match next week!
In Nick Miller’s battle with Hanson, he employed a very similar strategy to his partner Thorne. He, too, went for Hanson’s legs but Hanson clearly benefitted from watching the match earlier. Hanson dealt with Miller’s attack, nailed him with the Samoan Death Driver and got the win. That evens up the matches between TMDK and War Machine with one win apiece and a draw.
PAC has been on a winning streak as of late and now he plans on claiming a new victim: Intercontinental Champion Bandido.
Damian Martinez is undefeated since his GAW debut and he continues that run against Sin Cara. Sin Cara had nothing to stop Martinez’s power and the Archer of Infamy locked up the win with a hellacious big boot.
Backstage, the Usos share their contempt for Heyman and Lesnar for what they did to Kofi Kingston. They were interrupted, however, by Heyman himself. Heyman cryptically alluded to a project bigger than just the World Championship before walking away.
In the main event, Bianca Belair battles Dakota Kai in non-title action. It’s Belair’s biggest match of her career and she knew it, giving Kai everything she could handle. But right as Kai had seemingly overcome everything Belair could throw at her, a new threat emerged. Ronda Rousey came down to the ring and distracted Kai. The champ nearly succumbed to a backslide from Belair but she survived. But Rousey wasn’t done yet. Belair Irish whipped Kai and Rousey tripped her up as she hit the ropes. Kai once again turned her back on the former US Champ to deal with Rousey but it proved to be her final mistake. Belair hit the Kiss of Death from behind to pin the champion!
