YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHO SHOWED UP!
Kurt Andrews is tantalizingly close to his rematch with Flyboy for the Academy Title but he must first deal with Andrew Wesley in the opener tonight. The match was as good as you’d imagine and it’s worth a watch! But after a hellacious back and forth, Kurt Andrews hit the Eye of the Storm to get the win. The drama, however, was just beginning. Andrews got out of the ring fast to avoid a Flyboy attack, a smart move to be sure. But as Wesley got to his feet, Lieter clotheslined him from behind. The tag team champs are here and they are as dangerous as ever. Lieter beat up Wesley while the giant Dagonite pulverized Franky Omega on the outside. Andrews tried to come back to save the Wing Collectors but his suspicions about Flyboy were proven true. The Academy champ took Andrews down from behind and his TMDK crony Shane Thorne came to help in the beatdown. When all was said and done, Andrews and the Wing Collectors were left lying.
Backstage, Katherine Sakamoto admitted she didn’t believe her sister Kristin would beat Ballesca Pierce in the main event but Katherine did promise Ballesca wouldn’t leave the arena.
Ramon Gutierrez is a week removed from a cheap attack by Jackel and now he’s back in the ring against Chandler Marcy. Gutierrez proved that, when the game is fair, he’s one of the best out there. He hit Marcy with the Derota for the win. After the match, it was confirmed Gutierrez will be fighting Jackel at Northern Lights which begins in two weeks!
Backstage, Lazzara said she did not regret mentoring Sophia Sweetness and now the former champ is here to teach Sophia her final lesson: humility.
Unfortunately for Lance Woods, it was time for him to step into the ring with Lars Nightfall. And that’s pretty much all he did. As soon as he got in there, Nightfall destroyed him with a kendo stick. The bell rung. Nightfall nearly decapitated the tag team specialist with a German suplex. The giant hit the Nightmare and got the three. Eddie Hernandez rushed out and berated the man he brought into GAW. Nightfall left without a word.
Ulysses Sky has not been confident he can win a match against Derrick Cole while Primetime has guaranteed a sweep in their series. Turns out both were correct. Cole ran through the man from LA, dropping him with a Heisman Kick to finish the clean sweep.
After the match, we got a MAJOR announcement. Kurt Andrews will fight Shane Thorne in the first ever clash of Academy and Storm wrestlers on Stormchaser!
In the main event, Ballesca Pierce looked to prove a point against Kristin Sakamoto. Ballesca refused to use a single weapon despite the no DQ stipulation. Instead, she knocked Kristin unconscious with an axe kick for the win. It was a simple match but one that proved Ballesca Pierce is still among the best on earth. Before the show could end, the champ made an appearance. Ballesca confronted her and the two exchanged blows. Luckily, backstage security was prepared and broke the two up. Still, the situation remains combustible…
Next week on the last Stormchaser before Northern Lights, Yun-Son Park will battle Derrick Cole in the main event!
