WHERE ARE THE BIG MATCHES HAPPENING?!
We begin this week’s episode of Stormchaser with a HUGE announcement! For weeks we’ve known that Garrett Gibson vs. Kurt Andrews. Lazzara vs. Yamamoto and Eddie Hernandez vs. Yun-Son Park will all be going down but we didn’t know when… or where. Well to begin our show we announced the first ever GAW Academy Stormchaser special! Emanating from Sydney, Australia on March 15, Stormchaser:Sydney will mark the true entrance of Stormchaser on the national stage!
After that major announcement we moved straight into our first match where Stormchaser Tournament champion Katherine Sakamoto battled Christine Buckley. Buckley continues to show promise but she was no match for the MMA Legend Killer as Katherine powered out of the Buckshot and force Buckley to tap to the Legend Killer submission.
Next up, MidNight takes on the toughest test of his young GAW career when he battles Andrew Wesley. The Bonesaw made headlines when he and Franky Omega upset Woods Club in the first tag team match of Stormchaser. But he met his match in the white-hot MidNight. After a brutally long bout, MidNight finally dropped Wesley with the Sleepwalker to remain undefeated.
Backstage, Katherine Sakamoto reminds us all she holds victories over both Lazzara and Yamamoto and it’s the legend killer who will be waiting for the winner of their title match in Sydney.
Next we take a look at WAR, one of the most dangerous tag teams in the world and the early favorite for the new GAW Academy Tag Team Championships. This week we looked at their devastating tag team finisher fittingly named “War Ender.” It’s a dangerous backbreaker-top rope knee combination that surely means the end for any team they come across. More on WAR later…
Academy Champion Garrett Gibson is next in the ring and he is not happy. Feeling like he’s been slighted by his challenger Kurt Andrews, Gibson had something to prove when he took on Overload. And in a statement to his challenger, Gibson hit the Texas Jab and knocked the big man out cold followed by a pin.
Ahead of the main event, tag team legend Lieter addresses his upcoming match where he will team with the 20 year old Dagonite. Lieter heaped praise on the young man and alluded to a potential long-term team with the giant giant killer.
Dagonite got a chance to earn that praise in the main event as he teamed with Lieter to battle Flyboy and Mexican Shia. The two big men showed remarkable chemistry (as we expected) including two separate Doomsday Devices to Mexican Shia, both of which Flyboy broke up. Finally, Dagonite dropped Shia with a viscous Tower of God and got the three count. What could the future hold for this imposing new team??
Next week, WAR makes their highly anticipated debut, Women’s Champion Lazzara has a HUGE announcement and Yun-Son Park battles Lee Carr!
