THE HIGHS AND LOWS OF BEING A FAN
The last two episodes of Stormchaser saw insane opening matchups and we got more of the same this week. Max Ultimate got his first win in GAW last week and he’s back to take on rookie sensation Igris. It was a tremendous match where both men were forced to kick out of big moves. Max Ultimate triumphed in the end with the Max Damage for his third straight win.
Next up, undefeated Santanico took on winless Overload. While anything can happen in the GAW Academy, that wasn’t the case in this matchup. Santanico locked Overload in the Crimson Abyss for the win two minutes into the contest.
Backstage, Katherine Sakamoto confronted Commissioner Jason Parker to demand a rematch with Ballesca Pierce. Katherine claimed Ballesca didn’t beat her legitimately and she wanted a new opponent for her championship. Parker was not impressed and told the champ to go prepare for Ballesca’s challenge.
It’s finally time for Yun-Son Park to respond to Omega Woods and the legend did not disappoint. Park said he wasn’t sure what Omega would do if Park came to the ring two weeks ago as Omega has no family and nothing to lose. But the Academy legend did say he will give Woods whatever he wants, he just has to ask. He finished by telling Woods that even though Park has a family, he has the expectations of his culture and his country behind him and he has far more to live for than Omega Woods. We’ll find out next week what Omega Woods wants with Park…
Former Academy Champion Lazzara battles Sophia Sweetness in Lazzara’s first match since losing the title at Bash at the Beach. While Sweetness has clearly shown improvement in just a few short months since she’s been in the Academy, Lazzara showed she’s still at the top of her game, putting the rookie away with a Make My Fortune. After the match, the two shook hands in a show of respect.
Lancelot speaks for the first time since ending Garrett Gibson’s GAW career and he’s turned his attention to Mexican Shia. Lancelot claims Shia was once one of the most dangerous men in the underground but he’s been a shell of himself in GAW. Lancelot warned Shia to shape up or Lancelot will come for him again.
In our main event, Flyboy took on La Tortuga Roja in Flyboy’s first match since storming out of an interview at Stormchaser: Sydney. While the match started well, that was not to last. Roja looked great yet again as he’s enjoyed somewhat of a career renaissance and Flyboy clearly knew it. With five minutes gone, Flyboy got one of his first advantages of the match when he whipped Roja into the corner. The Mexican legend inadvertently made contact with the official on his way and what a turning point that would prove to be… With the referee still on the ground, Flyboy silenced the crowd and shocked the world by hitting Roja below the belt. Without a word, Flyboy climbed to the top, hit a Flyboy Bomb and won. Flyboy walked off without saying a thing and we were left speechless at what we had just witnessed.
Next week, we’ll see MidNight defend his RAW Title in a three way dance plus Kurt Andrews taking on Lars Nightfall with the Academy Championship on the line!
