EVERYONE WANTS THE CHAMP
Kurt Andrews has officially become the most hunted man in GAW. The Academy champ has been a present figure since he won the title but never before has there been so many people eyeing the top prize in the Academy. Andrews got into it on Twitter with both his brother Devon and GAW rookie Derrick Cole and it was ugly!
But even more dangerous than that is Flyboy, the man who turned on beloved veteran La Tortuga Roja and now has a single minded purpose to take the title off Andrews. Flyboy says he believes Andrews didn’t get his title match fairly and he played a political game to get that opportunity. He says openly he wants to reinvent GAW in his own image and it will begin with him taking the title off of Kurt Andrews.
Those comments led into the first match of the night which saw Flyboy take on Overload. It was a simple match; Flyboy showed a lot more aggression than we’ve seen from him before, winning the match with a Flyboy Bomb Overload was not prepared for.
Backstage, Mexican Shia addresses Lancelot whose fiery words seem to have motivated the Dragon of the South. He says Lancelot is not as invincible as he pretends to be and Shia does not need his help now or ever.
Scott Danielson takes on Max Ultimate who has now won four in a row after returning from injury. Unfortunately for the rookie, that winning seems to have attracted some jealous onlookers. Following their war of words last week on Dark, Stefford Drummond decided to continue the conflict into this Monday. OSHA’s least favorite son showed up in the middle of this match while the referee’s back was turned, dropped Ultimate with the Get a Job and gave Danielson the win. Surely there’s more to come from these too…
Backstage again, Oliver Parker finds Lee Carr. The two have been at war for months and now it’s Parker’s turn to fire a shot at the Ultimate Cinderella. He tossed Carr around the backstage area, hit him in the face with a coffee maker and slammed him onto solid concrete. These two are surely on a collision course.
In our main event, Lancelot competes in just his third match of the year as he takes on Franky Omega. The match was fast and fluid, exactly what we would’ve expected from two men who know each other so well. Lancelot hit the Grand Chariot, Omega landed a brutal Omega Theory, neither move was enough to end the match. Finally, Lancelot got into his bag with a submission hold, surprising Omega with a takedown and transitioning into King Arthur’s Blessing. Omega was forced to tap out.
Coming up next week, we’ll see Derrick Cole battle Santanico in the main event plus a special interview with Yun-Son Park and Omega Woods!
