IS THIS IT FOR THE
WING COLLECTORS?
After we hear from both Lancelot and Kurt Andrews we head to the ring for Joshua Moore vs Scott Danielson. Moore clearly had something to prove as he hit a massive missile dropkick and The Way the Cards Lay for the win. After the match, the rookie hit the mic and challenged Devon Andrews. Later on, Devon cryptically revealed he would be attending GAW Dark this Wednesday but made no mention of Joshua Moore…
Backstage Ulysses Sky and Kaitlyn Dunlap both have things to say about their future opponents but has their confidence become arrogance already?
Back in the ring Jackel battles Lars Nightfall. The Luchador tried to use his quickness to overcome the big man but Nightfall was too powerful, catching Jackel in a vicious Nightmare for the win.
After the match, Yun-Son Park comes down to the ring for an impassioned speech about Sam Hunt. Park challenged the terrifying specter to a match at Winterfest which Jason Parker immediately signed. Backstage Eddie Hernandez caught up with Park and pleaded with him not to take the match while he’s still not healthy. Park told Eddie the two of them have the opportunity to stop men like Sam Hunt and Chris Danger from overrunning the company and if he has to put his body on the line he will.
The first of two title matches sees MidNight put the RAW Title on the line against Angelo Diaz, the fourth member of the Las Vegas Connection MidNight has fought in the last several weeks. Diaz gave him more trouble than most including a brutal thrust kick/straight jacket German combination but MidNight survived. The champion hit his famous Sleepwalker for the win but it was anything but easy. After the match, Derrick Cole knocked out the champ with two Heisman Kicks, seemingly laying his personal claim to the RAW Title.
Backstage, Lieter reveals the Titans Rules for the tag title match tonight: the Wing Collectors must get a 5-count to win the titles.
We go to that match now as Andrew Wesley and Franky Omega take on the Titans once again with the Academy Tag Titles on the line. This time though, things felt different. Immediately the challengers seemed the better team, matching the Titans strike for strike and keeping the match at their own pace. But the five-count rule reared its ugly head more than once. After a flurry of offense that included the hurricanrana/powerbomb combination the Skymen have made famous, Lieter stayed down for three but kicked out before the count of four. Later on, Dagonite survived an Omega Theory after a four count. He survived a Crows and Angels after four as well. As good as the Wing Collectors were, they couldn’t overcome the Titans Rules. But Franky Omega had something else in mind. Finally after so many months of the Titans having the upper hand, someone outsmarted the champs. Omega locked in a Cattle Mutilation on Dagonite’s already-banged up arms and the big man had no choice but to tap out. The Wing Collectors finally overcame the Titans Rules to become Tag Team Champions in one of the great moments of Season 2 so far.
