THREE TITLE MATCHES ON THE FINAL NIGHT

We haven’t seen a title change yet at Winterfest, will that change on the final night? Paul Heyman hopes it won’t but he may have set those wheels in motion when he announced an open contract to fight Brock Lesnar for the World Title. Heyman opens the show by announcing the White Company, his new group that includes Lesnar, the Skymen and Shayna Baszler. Heyman hopes to use the group to change wrestling forever.

The Rainmaker might have something to say about that.

Kazuchika Okada signed the open contract to challenge Lesnar in one of the ultimate dream matches. Okada dropped Lesnar with a Rainmaker five minutes in and it had everyone hoping… but Lesnar kicked out. After more than half a dozen German suplexes, Lesnar hit the former two-time GAW World Champion with the F5 to pick up the victory.

Lancelot and Kurt Andrews have been an emotional (and sometimes physical) war over the last couple months and it all comes to a head here in a test of wills. The longest match of Winterfest, these two battered each other up and down in a contest you must go watch if you haven’t seen it already. Late in the match, Devon Andrews came down to watch the conclusion. Kurt hit the Eye of the Storm for what seemed like the killing blow but Lancelot, despite having his leg destroyed by Kurt during the match, willed himself to kick out. He dodged the corkscrew moonsault, hit the Grand Chariot and a hellacious EMP to finally become Academy Champion. But the story was not over there. Devon Andrews slid into the ring to batter Lancelot with a chair. Kurt came back in to seemingly stop the attack, but the influence of his brother was too strong. Kurt hit another Eye of the Storm before he and his brother stomped Lancelot nearly unconscious. Where will the Academy go from here??

After two weeks (and a considerable unintentional break) we finally get to our Winterfest main event, Kai vs Rousey title vs career in a steel cage. Immediately, Kai tried going up to the very top of the cage seemingly to get the advantage over a women she has fought three times already. Eventually the champion even hit a massive splash off the top of the cage but Rousey survived it. After more vicious fighting, both women made their way to the top of the cage where they did battle 15 feet off the ground. Kai won the battle, shoving Rousey off the cage and sending her crashing to the ground. Kai went for another splash to end Rousey’s career but Ronda dug into something deeper, moving away from the splash and locking Kai in the legendary arm bar. Kai tapped to an ovation you have to see right now. It will bring tears to the eyes of the most emotionless out there. Rousey closed the show by hoisting a new championship belt in one of the most emotional moments of the year.
